Elon Musk Reveals Latest Plan To Colonize Mars!

This week, Elon Musk revealed the latest plan in his quest to colonize Mars and make humans multi-planetary species.

If this idea sounds like something out of science fiction, that’s because it’s something only found in popular culture and science fiction novels so far — but that may soon change! Want to know more about what Elon Musk plans to do on Mars? Read on!

Elon Musk’s latest plans to colonize Mars

It seems Elon Musk’s biggest problems with SpaceX aren’t here on Earth anymore. The entrepreneur has just revealed some of his latest plans to colonize Mars, and they’re out of this world. The first step?

Finding a way to make humans multi-planetary, according to Musk — and it may involve artificial intelligence (AI).

In a speech at an event for startup founder iEx.ec on Thursday, Musk spoke about a neural lace that could link humans to computers. Essentially, it would be technology that allows people and machines to become intertwined. Although he didn’t reveal much detail about how it would work or what its purpose is, he did say it’s something SpaceX will most likely pursue within 2025.

But that’s not all — he also hinted at creating a DNA database for when humans do reach Mars. If humanity is confined to earth forever, we will not be in good shape, he said. So really the future is fundamentally going to bifurcate along in one of two directions. One path is we stay on Earth forever and then there will be some eventual extinction event. I do not have an immediate doomsday prophecy, but eventually, there will be some doomsday event.

How to Paint a Styrofoam Ball of Mars

And if you look at history, there’s a decent probability that there will be some doomsday event. In order to make sure that we would survive that, we need to have a backup plan. The alternative is to become a space-bearing civilization and a multi-planetary species. But we need to figure out how to do it in an encapsulated way because even if we colonized Mars, it would never be as cool as Earth.

So what can we do? Well, one of those things is to make life multi-planetary. I really think there are two fundamental paths for humans: One path is we stay on earth forever and then there will be some eventual extinction event — I do not have an immediate doomsday prophecy but eventually, there will be some doomsday event — but then eventually becoming a space-bearing civilization or not; either one of those options are possible.

If you look at history, most civilizations collapsed. Most technology levels get kind of lost — usually around the period of time lasting about 3,000 years where nothing much new happens; no new levels of complexity are developed; things just kind of slowly decay until either a new technology or a new idea emerges.

Elon Musk reveals he is making ‘multi-planetary species’

Elon Musk just unveiled his latest plan to colonize Mars, and it all starts with building a spaceship. During a speech at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Friday night, Musk revealed that he hopes to build SpaceX’s next giant rocket — dubbed BFR (or Big F—ing Rocket) — which could fly people to anywhere on Earth in under an hour. And then beyond Earth to other planets and destinations. We’re going to try and do that next, he said about a possible trip from New York City to Shanghai in about 39 minutes for around $2,000. The vehicle would also be capable of carrying passengers from city to city on Earth as well. Now I love rockets, Musk said.

According to a report from Bloomberg, The BFR rocket would be larger than both SpaceX’s existing rockets and Boeing’s new rocket. BFR is 30 feet wide, while Falcon 9 is 12 feet wide and 23 feet long. The current biggest rocket in operation, United Launch Alliance’s Delta IV Heavy, is comparable to SpaceX’s rockets in size at 28 feet in diameter but stands at 138 feet tall — nearly as tall as a 20-story building. Its final design will depend on what payload it will carry and how much money customers are willing to pay for trips, which still remains an open question since no one has stepped up to make a reservation yet.

However, a trip to Mars is at least six years away and even more money. According to Musk, who has been estimating that trips could take place in 2022 or 2023, there’s only about a 50-50 chance of success for that first mission. Oh yeah sure — I think we’ll be able to do short flights, up and down flights, probably sometime in the first half of next year, he said during a question-and-answer session after his speech. But then it really becomes a case of expanding on those capabilities and making sure they’re reliable enough for people to be comfortable travelling in them. Then by 2025, we should be sort of right on where we need to be for establishing a city on Mars.

Elon Musk’s latest update on colonizing the Red Planet

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk just revealed his latest plans to colonize Mars at a conference in Australia, according to a report from ABC News. And, as always, they’re pretty awesome. The tech mogul laid out his plan on how he and SpaceX are hoping to set up a self-sustaining city on Mars within his lifetime. While there’s no official timeline for when we could be seeing humans (or at least non-robotic explorers) populating our neighbouring planet, Mr Musk is optimistic it could happen sooner than expected.

First of all, could it work? If we can get a self-sustaining base on Mars, that’s really when things will have changed in terms of humanity’s influence on our solar system, Mr Musk said at last week’s International Astronautical Congress in Australia. Mars would become sort of a service area ahead of further expansion to other planets and eventually other solar systems. So that’s really where things need to get to.

  • •The Most Earthlike Planet Yet: In addition to all his talk about colonization, Elon also mentioned during his speech that NASA recently discovered an Earth-sized planet called Proxima b orbiting Proxima Centauri – our closest star after Sol. Could it be a potential target for SpaceX or another space agency?
  • •Transportation to Mars: Elon is still trying to figure out how to transport people and cargo between here and there, but he’s not opposed to different modes of transportation. While SpaceX has mainly been focused on reusable rockets that are designed with space travel in mind, Mr Musk said, I think we will probably want a new transport system. It might be a supersonic plane – or maybe something else entirely.

Elon Musk gives an update on the colonization of Mars by 2028

The goal of SpaceX is to build a transport system. It’s like building a transcontinental railway, he said. It’s very difficult to do and it doesn’t make sense to finish it unless you know there are people willing to move from one place to another. So that really means making life multi-planetary—making life on Mars, ultimately. That’s what ‘make life multi-planetary really means.

The goal of SpaceX is to build these ridiculously huge rockets that are capable of transporting hundreds of people and supplies to Mars, thus allowing us to make life multi-planetary. This will be a difficult process but it’s necessary if we ever want to escape extinction on Earth, which is becoming increasingly more likely with climate change and large asteroid impacts. The latest news from Elon musk on colonizing mars by 2028.

As long as we continue to stay on Earth, we are not multi-planetary. We really need to be a two-planet species. Two planet species were survivable and so if humanity is to continue living beyond Earth, it needs to become a multiplanet species and that’s what SpaceX is dedicated to helping make happen. This will require incredibly large rockets capable of transporting hundreds of people at a time along with all their food, equipment and shelter, but also building out huge space stations throughout space so humanity can settle there while they make plans for making their way to planets outside our solar system—that might take thousands or millions of years but it’s still an important goal.

Conclusion

Tesla’s boss said colonizing Mars would be essential to humanity’s survival. Just last month, NASA unveiled a plan to put humans on a nearby asteroid by 2025, which will include finding ways to extract resources and convert them into fuel. If humanity is going to survive, we’ll need more than one planet that can support life, and Elon Musk is doing what he can with SpaceX. Could Elon Musk be our species’ saviour? We can only hope that his latest plan for colonizing Mars will pan out, and humanity’s survival will no longer be threatened. For now, it seems like we have a long way to go before we’re ready to start a colony on another planet. But what do you think? Is Elon Musk’s latest plan too optimistic or do you think he could actually pull it off? Sound off in the comments section below!
