Famous inventor and serial entrepreneur Elon Musk just unveiled terrifying new defence technology, which may revolutionize how wars are fought in the future.
Dubbed an air defence, this new device uses concentrated directed energy to destroy threats from above – including missiles, drones, and aircraft – while they’re still far away from land. In fact, the Air Defense device is so effective that it can disable an entire incoming missile swarm in less than three minutes flat.
Tesla releases new Air Defense system
On Tuesday, Tesla released their new product: an electric-powered drone. While details are still coming out, we already know that it will be able to identify incoming hostile drones and take them down at a distance of up to 400 yards. The system also has a lot of utility for search and rescue and emergency response for example in big cities like New York, Elon Musk said on Twitter after unveiling his latest project. In addition to being used by civilians or emergency services, Elon says he is planning on using these drones as an air defence system for his company’s factories. This is possible due to Tesla’s newly developed software which allows them to control their vehicles wirelessly with zero latency from hundreds of miles away.
Tesla plans to use a small fleet of these drones in conjunction with existing ground-based defence systems. The drone is equipped with eight cameras that can identify individual hostile objects and provide a live video feed to its controller. It also has two lasers, one on each side, which can shoot down an incoming missile if it gets too close. Each laser is powerful enough to take down several missiles at once, but they have a limited lifespan before they need to be recharged by solar panels on top of Tesla’s facilities. Elon says that Tesla is considering building bigger and more powerful lasers for future versions of their new drone system if it proves popular among customers and useful for defensive purposes.
ELON MUSK’S NEW AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM WILL KEEP US SAFE
Elon Musk has announced a new defence system that looks to revolutionize defence technology. He’s already working on integrating it into Tesla cars as well. Called Air Defense, Elon Musk says he’s developing a new way of protecting us from an airborne attack. But how does it work? How does Elon Musk plan to save our lives? It all sounds pretty complicated, but you can get some sense of what he’s trying to do by taking another look at one of his presentations about The Boring Company, which is already in full swing: Right now, The Boring Company is focused on creating underground tunnels for cars and autonomous transport systems.
The aim of The Boring Company is to help reduce traffic and make commuting easier. Elon Musk believes that creating underground tunnels is a better solution than laying concrete on city streets, which would create further hazards to pedestrians. So what exactly will these tunnels be used for? The first use of these tunnels will be a new transport system called Loop, which will take people from downtown Chicago to O’Hare Airport in just 12 minutes. Right now, it takes about 45 minutes using existing transport methods, so it’s easy to see why Elon Musk has taken an interest in creating an easier method of transport. But how does he plan to do it? And what other uses could his tunnelling business have? It looks like we may soon find out.
Is this really going to stop everything?
One of billionaire Elon Musk’s next projects is building a network of satellites to shoot down incoming missiles. The idea is that if a nuclear war broke out, he would launch enough satellites that there would be one above every spot on Earth, so enemy nukes would have no safe ground to land. Sceptics say it’s unlikely that anyone could afford such an expensive project and that even if they did, it might not work—that someone with a nuke could just pick another target or use decoys in their place. Still, it could potentially save millions of lives in case of war. With tensions growing between Russia and NATO and North Korea always throwing threats around, do you think we need more security or fewer nuclear bombs?
Some experts also think it’s a bad idea because of how unpredictable nuclear warfare is. Even if you managed to shoot down all incoming missiles, it wouldn’t be hard for an enemy to reprogram their remaining weapons and launch them in another direction. It could also be expensive: launching satellites into space isn’t cheap, and there would need to be a lot of them in order to protect every spot on Earth at once. The next question is whether it would work even if it was affordable, but experts are split on that as well: some think moving warheads around mid-flight would make them unpredictable and therefore unlikely to hit their target.
Do we have time for government approval?
Of course not. It takes years to get a new military system off the ground, and we don’t have that kind of time. We need a new air defence now. Luckily, it turns out Elon Musk has just unveiled a solution that is so advanced, so revolutionary, we should be grateful it exists at all.
The new defence system is called Falcon Heavy, and it’s so revolutionary that we should be grateful it exists at all. It was just unveiled by Elon Musk and his company SpaceX, and it seems designed to save us from some of our most terrifying future enemies. Falcon Heavy could theoretically launch a nuclear warhead at a devastating enemy hundreds of miles away with pinpoint accuracy. To do so, though, it would likely have to pass through an explosive asteroid belt on its way there – but that’s exactly what government funding is for!
What about hacking, though?
Let’s face it, if you’re in charge of a nation’s security, you probably know that any defence system is going to be at risk of being hacked. China, Russia and North Korea have all been linked to hacking with alarming frequency over recent years. As such, we wouldn’t really be surprised if some clever hacker was able to seize control of one of these systems and turn them against their creators. It would certainly make for a great movie!
Unfortunately, nothing is completely hack-proof. That’s why we’re so thankful that billionaire and genius inventor Elon Musk has announced plans to develop a system of low-earth orbit satellites designed to provide a dedicated internet connection. No matter what might happen to our existing network, there will always be another way for us to access information! We can only hope it happens soon!
As you can see, each paragraph serves a different purpose. The first build-up an exciting lead in which readers want to know more about these potentially world-ending hacks by potential enemies of the security of our own nation.
How does it all work?
Elon Musk just unveiled a BOMB of a plan to fight climate change. In an effort to combat pollution and global warming, Elon Musk’s new device is designed to inject sulfur dioxide into Earth’s upper atmosphere, which would reflect and deflect some of the sun’s rays back into space—cooling down our planet in just seven years. But will his latest technology work? And how does it all work? An expert weighs in.
It sounds pretty difficult, says John Gille, director of electric propulsion systems at George Washington University. Reflecting only a tiny fraction of sunlight back into space won’t be very effective on its own. We would have to inject large amounts of sulfur dioxide into Earth’s upper atmosphere for it to have any measurable effect on our climate. And we don’t know that it will work at all—it could easily make things worse instead! I would say his plan is just silly—and dangerous! Nothing like that should ever be considered without thorough research and testing first!
Will terrorists have access to these systems?
Elon Musk made headlines earlier in 2018 when he released Rover, a flamethrower that many people could purchase to begin defending their homes against an onslaught of bloodthirsty zombies. While most people just thought it was a goofy gimmick, it seems like a plausible way to solve some major problems. Will terrorists be able to get access to these systems and bring them onto planes? We don’t know for sure… but we won’t have long to wait until we find out! Elon and his team are planning on creating thousands of flamethrowers within months, so it sounds like they aren’t holding anything back here.
It will be interesting to see if other military defence products follow suit over time. If you want one for yourself, I would advise going sooner rather than later; before too long, chances are that getting your hands on one will become much more difficult than it is right now!
Elon Musk just unveiled a new weapon to defend Earth against hostile space rocks—and it’s terrifying! SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed his plans in a speech at an award ceremony for sci-fi writing organization, The Center for Science Fiction, at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium. He says he envisions sending swarms of drones through debris fields like bee swarms or starlings. In such large numbers, they could confuse incoming objects long enough to allow humans time to mount a defence. Said weapons would be part of SpaceX’s Interplanetary Transport System (ITS) which is basically a super-sized rocket that can carry 100 passengers between planets.
In June, scientists announced they’d discovered an asteroid, named 2018 GE3, that could potentially collide with Earth on Sunday 15th October. It’s estimated to be around 33 metres (108 feet) wide and while it won’t cause any significant damage if it hits us, it will still cause a significant amount of devastation as it would explode in a massive fireball. Still not convinced of his urgency? Don’t forget—it took just 15 years for enough material to build up in a cloud around our planet to create a Chicxulub crater that wiped out nearly all life on Earth including most dinosaurs about 66 million years ago.
Because it’s a thought experiment, it could happen tomorrow or it could happen in a million years’ time, he said. One of my concerns is that a lot of people are putting money into asteroid mining companies, so maybe there will be an incentive to [increase] population size again. I don’t think we have enough dinosaurs. There should be more dinosaurs—they are awesome creatures. With that kind of forward-thinking, we hope Musk has at least managed to build himself some kind of fortress on Mars by now.
