Can’t get enough of Elon Musk? The tech entrepreneur just released his new master plan on Tesla, SpaceX, and Open Ai! Here’s what he has in store for the coming years…
Part 1 – NeuraLink
Elon Musk’s new Neuralink initiative announced today in San Francisco at Recode’s Code Conference is yet another glimpse into his future plan to merge human intelligence with artificial intelligence. Neuralink is a startup that will connect brains with computers. The company will work on what Musk calls neural lace technology—implants that would facilitate direct communication between brains and computers.
One of those brain-computer interfaces is coming soon. Elon Musk’s Neuralink, a startup that will connect brains with computers, has said it hopes to create devices that can be implanted in human brains within four years. Implants would help humans keep up with machines and avoid being left behind as artificial intelligence advances. However, there are other companies working on similar technology. For example, Kernel, a startup in San Francisco founded by Braintree founder Bryan Johnson, is also developing brain implants to augment human intelligence.
Part 2 – Unlimited Self-Powering Buildings
In addition to a Gigafactory that will produce batteries, Tesla will build what Musk calls Gigafactories that are capable of manufacturing more lithium-ion batteries than all other factories combined. That would make sense, seeing as Tesla plans to power buildings with solar roofs and Powerwalls that store excess solar energy collected during peak production hours. These massive battery producing facilities could potentially power entire cities, which would reduce a city’s need for traditional power sources such as coal and natural gas. Essentially, Elon musk is not just trying to bring an electric car into every garage; he wants to move us beyond fossil fuels entirely.
Elon musk’s master plan involves creating more sustainable energy sources. In addition to solar panels, Musk wants to power homes with Powerwalls that can store excess solar energy during peak production hours. Powerwalls will be integrated into Tesla vehicles so people can recharge their batteries while driving, which is something that no other electric car company has done. This will add safety and convenience to electric cars and diversify away from fossil fuels for transportation. Not only does Elon musk want to build efficient vehicles, but he also plans on building massive battery producing factories capable of making enough lithium-ion batteries to power entire cities. The end goal is to produce enough renewable energy sources such as solar panels and Powerwalls so that our cities can run entirely off sustainable energy.
Part 3 – Electric Cars
Now that Tesla has revolutionized electric cars, Elon musk’s future plan is to merge Tesla’s tech with solar energy company SolarCity and battery company, or at least bring in a new CTO to help lead these efforts.
If all goes according to plan, all of these projects could be connected and running smoothly by 2022. All you need is a little patience and trust in Elon Musk’s future plan. And if it doesn’t work out? There’s no need to worry–Musk knows how quickly things can change (we’re talking months here!) so his focus is not on executing the plan, but on executing quickly enough so that he can execute again!
Tesla’s plans don’t stop with electric cars. The company also wants to power its vehicles and homes by storing solar energy in a home battery called Powerwall, as well as commercial-sized batteries dubbed Powerpack. By expanding its offerings of low-carbon energy products, Tesla is hoping to make a bigger dent in our dependence on fossil fuels, so that one day we’ll all be driving around in Teslas powered entirely by clean energy. It’s bold–and maybe it seems farfetched–but Elon musk’s future plan is not only feasible but could become reality within less than 10 years. Imagine all of us being able to travel down any road while never having to pay for gas again!
Part 4 – Solar City
Elon Musk also has a plan for future energy Elon Musk – whose name has now become synonymous with cutting-edge transportation and sustainable business ventures – has now revealed his master plan for future energy production. Speaking at SolarCity’s Future of Energy Summit in California, Musk laid out his vision for solar energy use in America and explained how he intends to make it work. Musk opened by pointing out that nobody is even considering how much energy humans consume, nor what methods they’re using to produce it. He then expressed hope that future discussions will centre around clean, renewable power generation instead of further carbon emissions.
Elon Musk wants to take humans to Mars, sending rockets into space that can be reused in subsequent launches. That’s part of his long-term plan for sustainable energy production. The third part of his master plan involves using solar panels on Earth—not in space, but on our own planet—to generate electricity from renewable sources and keep humans from burning coal, oil and natural gas. (In other words, there’s more than one way to get sustainable energy.) During a speech at SolarCity’s Future of Energy Summit, Musk said he envisions a future where homes run solely on solar power generated by their roof panels with Tesla Powerwall batteries providing backup when clouds block sunlight.
Part 5 – Open AI
In August 2016, Elon Musk announced that he was going to start a non-profit company called OpenAI, with the goal of creating safe AGI. It will research and develop safe artificial intelligence in an open manner. Artificial intelligence has been described as a dangerous weapon that could become more powerful than nuclear weapons if it is developed or used improperly. To address these concerns, Musk and other tech leaders signed an open letter published in August 2015 warning of military AI applications and calling for a ban on autonomous weapons. In December 2015, Elon co-signed another letter along with Stephen Hawking to ban autonomous weapons. The letter also called for a ban on offensive autonomous weapons beyond meaningful human control, such as armed quadcopters that can select their own targets.
Elon musk’s future plan also mentions Open Ai. It is focused on artificial intelligence, R&D, and creating AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) technology that is safe and useful for mankind. As part 4 of Elon musk’s master plan states, we will merge with advanced AI systems to form a hybrid AI-human partnership.
Part 6 – Spaceship Colonies
Elon Musk wants to colonize Mars, starting with one million people. The SpaceX CEO laid out his plan on Thursday at a conference in Mexico, saying that he expects manned missions to Mars could begin as soon as 2026. The mission will cost $10 billion per person and last about 80 days, which would require departures every 26 months once it gets underway. It’s an ambitious plan—but according to Musk, Mars is now humanity’s best bet for survival. I think there are really two fundamental paths, he said during his speech at International Astronautical Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico.
2027 was marked a turning point for SpaceX, as it has its first significant payloads beyond Earth’s orbit in 2019. The company is planning to send two private citizens on a trip around the moon and have a crewed mission with NASA in 2024. They plan to land on Mars as soon as 2025 and build a permanent settlement there. To get it all done, Musk says they need to make their spaceships reusable so that we can launch them again and again. He wants his Falcon 9 rockets that deliver satellites into space to act like airliners do today: refuelling after each flight and launching with a full load within 48 hours of landing.
What to Expect? The year 2022 is only 6 years away, but already there are big changes afoot in all of Musk’s companies. Tesla, now valued at around $53 billion is growing more and more important to Musk. So much so that he was willing to part with SolarCity – something which he once described as one of his two loves. However, it would appear that even when a woman (or business) gets into your heart they can still be let go. What’s clear is that no matter what happens next with his companies, we will all be watching! Enjoy our review of Elon musk’s master plan today!
