Elon Musk Just Revealed New Tesla Gigafactory UK

Has Elon Musk just revealed the location of Tesla’s new gigafactory in the UK? The tech genius has been teasing fans with hints that he’s going to build the second car plant outside of the US in Europe, and now they might have got the first look at where it will be built.

NEW TESLA GIGAFACTORY UK

Elon Musk recently revealed new details about his plans for a Tesla gigafactory in Europe. He announced that he had put down a deposit on a location in Wales. The factory is expected to create 6,500 jobs by 2023. With U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed that Wales would be at the heart of [the government’s] Industrial Strategy,’ there is little doubt as to whether or not it will proceed. Currently, however, there are no public details on how much investment will go into building and equipping such a site nor where exactly it might be built.

Tesla Gigafactory UK

Last year, in 2021, Elon Musk said that he was totally confident that a new gigafactory would be built in Europe. It is thought to be a large part of his plan to make electric vehicles more affordable. So far it is believed that locations under consideration are: UK, Germany, France, and Spain.

Whilst many other large companies have been forced to diversify their operations due to Brexit, it seems that Elon Musk is undeterred. Indeed, he has already pledged huge amounts of cash and time towards U.K.-based projects in recent years including a Hyperloop track between London and Glasgow, and significant investments in artificial intelligence startup, Neuralink. Musk has also recently personally donated $15 million towards research into treating children born with spina bifida at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). This is likely to be on top of generous corporate donations made through Tesla or SpaceX.

As well as making electric vehicles more affordable and increasing choices for customers, a European gigafactory is also likely to have significant environmental benefits. It’s clear that Elon Musk has big plans for Wales and he’s been instrumental in pushing towards better environmental performance on previous ventures. The new Tesla gigafactory could go a long way towards reducing emissions from cars – which currently account for 25% of total U.K. carbon emissions – even further by driving down costs in the future production of green cars, which may one day compete with non-electric models on price alone.

ELON MUSK ANNOUNCES TESLA NEW GIGAFACTORY

Elon Musk has announced that Tesla’s second major plant is going to be built in Europe. He also revealed a new company slogan: Built for the earth.

The future gigafactory will cover an area of 34 acres and will produce lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, Powerwalls and Powerpacks, according to Eureka Alert. Musk gave no further details about where it would be built, or when construction would begin. The current Tesla factory in Freemont, California produces 500,000 battery packs per year. In comparison to that number, Elon said that by 2020 Tesla’s goal is to manufacture half a million cars every year and double their energy storage products as well.

Tesla’s new gigafactory will be built with several partners in Europe, but Elon didn’t announce which ones. On his Twitter page, he said that they are in talks with two parties in Europe and staying informed on multiple fronts. In June of last year, reports emerged that Musk was planning to build a factory in Germany, but negotiations fell through. Right now Tesla vehicles are sold only in a few European countries. The company’s long-term goal is to offer its vehicles throughout all European markets as well as China and India.

The Tesla new gigafactory is meant to produce Tesla Model 3, a car that could get up to 215 miles per charge. The vehicle will be 20 percent smaller than the Model S and start at $35,000. Musk announced that they’re expecting to manufacture around 100 cars in August of 2017. Its manufacturer-suggested retail price is $35,000 (before any government incentives), but with options, it can climb over $50,000.

THE AMAZING FACTS ABOUT NEW TESLA GIGAFACTORY

Elon Musk just revealed some amazing facts about Tesla’s new gigafactory! It looks like Elon Musk will build a new Tesla gigafactory in the United Kingdom. If you remember, he said that it is possible to get lithium for China factories from several different sources, but for European plants, it’s only one option. Well, now you know why Elon Musk is planning to build a new gigafactory in Britain. Looks like Elon musk has found a supplier for his next Tesla gigfatory and it’s located in Spain. The company called Albemarle produces more than 50% of the global lithium supply every year so there shouldn’t be any problems with getting enough lithium for the new factory.

The new gigafactory will be more than just a factory. It will be a £100 million, 750-acre facility built on disused military land in Wales. When it’s completed, it will be 10 times bigger than any other lithium battery plant and supply batteries for around 500,000 Tesla cars per year. Not only that but plans for electric car chargers to charge Tesla vehicles at a rate of 1,200 cars per hour are now being considered by officials. It’s expected that there would be between 6,500 and 8,000 people working at the new gigafactory once it is up and running sometime in 2022.

The Tesla factory will be located near Swansea in Wales, a UK city that already houses several companies involved in electric vehicles. Although most of these companies were attracted to Swansea because of grants for R&D and infrastructure, Tesla’s presence is expected to attract even more international attention. Tesla is expected to invest over £400 million into constructing a brand new manufacturing plant for lithium-ion batteries near Newport. This would put Britain at just an hour’s drive from some of Europe’s biggest ports which can be used for exports, or importation from other countries.

The idea of building a new Tesla gigafactory in Britain was first proposed in June 2017. At that time, Elon Musk said that he would invest $100 million into it and hoped to attract an additional $200 million in investment from other companies. The idea was popular with investors and officials alike, but no final decision had been made until recently. For now, Elon musk plans to do a lot more research on how much potential is out there before deciding whether or not to build a new gigafactory. However, even if he decides against it, his company’s investment will have already improved technological capabilities and created many jobs for British citizens – which is great news for everyone! Stay tuned for more details about Tesla’s newest gigfactory!

Conclusion

Elon Musk, Tesla Motors CEO and founder, has recently announced that he will be moving forward with plans to build a new Tesla gigafactory.

The new factory is expected to open in 2022 and will be based in Northern England. Several experts claim that building a factory outside of California will save time, money, and energy costs. All in all, construction on the new factory is estimated to cost over $5 billion. Although Tesla Motors won’t be releasing any official information until further notice, here’s what we do know: Elon Musk recently posted a picture on Twitter announcing his intentions of having a base in England…exciting stuff! Stay tuned for more news!

Although little is known at present, sources speculate that it will likely be a similar design to Tesla’s original gigafactory in Nevada. The factory boasts a capacity of 35 gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year and covers 5.8 million square feet of space. The plant also claims to have achieved a massive reduction in per-unit production costs – as much as 30% less than previously estimated by experts. Although Tesla’s new gigafactory has yet to be released for public viewing, Tesla Motors does promise that photos and videos will soon follow. So, for those interested in seeing what it looks like or want more information about its features – we may not have long to wait!

The new gigafactory will be much like Tesla’s original factory, but with an increased capacity. It will boast a 35 GWh/year capacity, cover 5.8 million square feet of space and provide a reduction in per-unit production costs of around 30%. This factory is expected to be operational in 2022, however, Tesla Motors has not released any information concerning where it will be located. Elon Musk and his team are working hard to ensure that everything goes according to plan – so check back here for more news as it breaks!
