Tesla's INSANE New Van is FINALLY Here

How would you like to finally be able to go to the grocery store with your entire family and still have room to spare?

That’s exactly what Tesla’s new van has been designed to do. With up to 21 cu. ft of storage space, the interior of this all-electric vehicle leaves plenty of room for groceries, sports equipment, bags from the mall – even a small boat! What makes it so different from all other vans on the market? Keep reading and learn more about Tesla’s newest amazing creation.

The Tesla Lifestyle Van

Tesla has officially unveiled its Lifestyle Van, which will be available to purchase in 2022. The new van, which will run off a version of Tesla’s custom e-drivetrain that was announced last year, will allow people to live 100% sustainably while still achieving impressive performance numbers. Early estimates predict that a fully-loaded model could achieve over 400 miles on a single charge. Other notable features include an energy recycling cabin design; so you’ll never have to worry about paying for fuel again. If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of these bad boys soon, we have some good news: Tesla says they are already taking preorders for $1 million – but don’t expect to get yours until 2022.

One of Tesla’s biggest selling points has always been how their cars are also capable of running off sustainable sources, such as solar power. But, until now, people could only enjoy that benefit if they were driving one of Tesla’s more performance-driven vehicles like a Model S or X. The new Lifestyle Van changes all that. Now you can save money on fuel while still enjoying a high-performance drivetrain. This innovative new design will prove to be a game-changer for many families across America who need high-performance vehicles but also want to live sustainably at home, in school and at work.

What’s Included?

Semi | Tesla

The new Tesla van will include autonomous driving features. The fully electric van will be able to drive on its own to your location, and even let you off wherever you like. Of course, if you wish to drive yourself, there is a steering wheel that can appear out of nowhere once you need it. It also comes with front doors that open upwards in a butterfly motion. Inside, there are seating areas so that people can hang out while they wait for their next appointment or stop on their journey. There’s also an option for rear-facing seats at a table – great for families who travel together or for two people working on a project together!

The new Tesla van will also be equipped with a host of other features to make travelling a breeze. It will be able to navigate city streets on its own, change lanes at your command, and find a parking spot when you’re ready to stop for lunch or do some shopping. But that’s not all. The Tesla van comes with features like temperature control systems, mood lighting, tinted windows and even infotainment systems so you can listen to music during your trip. There are also lots of USB ports for you to charge your phones as well as an outlet for charging laptops if needed.

Why Are There So Many Specs?

If you’re like us, there are a few major specs on the Tesla Model X P100D van that have you a little confused. First off, 0-60 time — that actually refers to acceleration time for 0-60 MPH; in other words, how long does it take you to go from 0-60 mph? That number for the Tesla Model X P100D van is roughly 2.9 seconds — CRAZY fast! Next up, Range — what does that mean? Well, imagine yourself driving on an open road with no speed limits. Would you be able to drive at top speed forever or would your vehicle eventually run out of power? That’s range.

We’re going to dive into two main things in today’s post: first, everything you need to know about how fast your Tesla Model X P100D van will go (it may surprise you!) And second, a review of the range so that you can determine how far you’ll be able to drive your new van. Let’s get started!
Model X 100D Specs – Range: The top-of-the-line Tesla Model X P100D model boasts impressive performance with its 2.9-second 0-60 time; but what about range?

How Much Does it Cost?

Most people who’ve been following Tesla know that Elon Musk has big dreams for his electric vehicles. They also know that those dreams can often seem overly ambitious—and, at times, impossible. However, even some of Musk’s biggest critics must admit that one of his greatest talents is his ability to take an idea—no matter how far-fetched it might sound—and make it a reality. For example, there was once a time when people doubted Tesla could ever make its all-electric Model S sedan a success in any market outside of California or Norway. In both cases, though, not only did Tesla prove naysayers wrong but eventually became one of their country’s top-selling vehicles—not just EVs but cars overall.

In other words, there’s a good chance that Tesla’s brand-new all-electric cargo van will be just as wildly successful. And while we don’t know exactly how much they’ll cost, we do know that Tesla plans to begin delivering them in 2022. While you might think that seems like a long way off, it actually makes sense given Tesla’s current product offerings. As of now, after all, Tesla doesn’t have a full range of vehicles—and its upcoming crossover SUV isn’t expected to be ready until 2021. Given those limitations, then, creating a new vehicle was an obvious choice for Musk & Co.

Is the Tesla Lifestyle Gaining Traction?

If you’ve never driven in a Tesla, you’ve likely heard about how cool (and pricey) their cars are. There are several reasons for that; one of them being that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made a big deal about encouraging people to buy electric cars—because he wants to save the world. But, he also wants your money—so much so that he talks a lot about his other products besides Teslas. At first glance, these products don’t have anything to do with driving an EV… but they do have something to do with convenience.

So, why should Tesla owners care about these products? Well, if you’re passionate about driving electric, buying a Tesla has now become a lifestyle choice. And when something becomes part of your identity like that, you want to buy into everything that goes along with it. This means caring more about where your food comes from, how far it travelled before you ate it, whether or not your shoes were made in an ethical factory and—yes—what kind of toilet paper you use.

Can I Buy One Right Now?

It’s not yet clear if or when Tesla will bring its new van to market. And even then, only time will tell whether potential customers are willing to get on board. For now, we can only hope—and wait for 2022. In the meantime, here’s a closer look at what makes Tesla’s new van so special. Once you see it in action, you might find yourself wishing you could buy one right now . . . just like I do. Enjoy!

If you can’t wait to buy one of Tesla’s new vans, there are a couple of ways to do so. First, you could wait until 2022, when Tesla has promised that these vehicles will be available to regular customers. (But don’t hold your breath.) Alternately, if you have an extra $200 million lying around, you could pick up one of 50 limited-edition superluxury Model X SUVs—at least until some lucky billionaire sells his rare beauty for a cool $20 million on eBay. And since I know someone reading might be considering buying used . . . I wouldn’t.

Are There Any Safety Concerns with this Electric Van?

The Tesla van of 2022 seems like a no-brainer, right? I mean, as long as gas prices don’t drop back to 2010 levels. And let’s be honest, gas prices are only going up at their current rate of increase. So why aren’t there already all kinds of electric vans on our roads? Why aren’t there large fleets of electric delivery vans lined up outside your local Staples office supply store? Well, not for lack of trying by Elon Musk and company. But EV companies like Tesla can only roll out new vehicles as fast as their competitors do; there is no way to jump ahead in this regard.

Tesla definitely has a head start on companies like Toyota, Ford, and GM. Musk plans to bring out his Tesla vans in 2022. The new Tesla van will have a top speed of 150 mph (compared to 110 mph for their current models), more than 300 miles of range (400 if you go easy on acceleration and air conditioning) as well as front-facing seating designed for more comfort than that in other electric vehicles. Oh, and did I mention that some Tesla Model 3 owners report being able to get 50 miles out of just 30 minutes of charging?

When Can We Buy a Tesla Lifestyle Minivan of Our Own?

Tesla has been working on a van for years. The Tesla Semi was designed from scratch to be an electric vehicle that could compete with diesel semi-trucks in terms of cost, performance, and range (The long-haul version will have 400 miles of range.). Now, we have a release date: August 2019. It’s hard to predict how big a splash Tesla’s new van will make on its first day in stores (or on roads), but if its flagship sedan is any indication—and if Elon Musk sticks to his promise that future Tesla vehicles will be like cars—it should become one of Amazon’s top sellers.

Right now, Tesla vans are available for reservation in two distinct models: a pickup truck that seats three people, or a five-passenger cargo van. Each can be ordered in Long Range or Short Range variants—the former has 400 miles of range per charge, while (predictably) the latter only has 200. That said, Tesla hasn’t yet announced how much each will cost. The company plans to start shipping orders at least three months after they begin accepting them on their website, which gives them some wiggle room in case they need to make price adjustments before then.
